Over time, Banana Pay has shifted its focus to the East Africa region, targeting the diaspora community looking to transfer money back home.
Garad Nor, the CEO of Banana Pay, says the company prides itself on its various ancillary money transfer services such as bank transfer, cash pickup, mobile money/mobile wallet transfer, among others.
“Banana Pay LLC has truly become a convenient one-stop solution for all expat needs. We understand when you as a customer undertake business with us, you place a great deal of trust in us,” Nor says.
And now Banana Pay has launched a mobile app which aims at making money transfer even easier for the East African diaspora members.
The app launched in June 2023 has so far attracted over 10,000 users monthly, with more people now using it to make remittances.
To use the app, one downloads it on their mobile phone, signs up and creates a free account.
The next step is to create a transaction, then choose a country to send to, the amount, the delivery method as well as the payment option. The sender then receives a voucher and is required to provide valid identification. The next step is to send the money to Banana Pay via Credit/Debit card and the firm does the rest.
More East Africans in the diaspora are now adopting the app even as remittances keep growing.
“Our rates are the best in the market, we also offer different ways to deliver the money like M-pesa, cash collection and bank transfers,” Nor added.
Banana Pay looks forward to improving user experience for its clients, even as it targets to give them the ability to send and receive money in as many avenues as possible, whether through banks, mobile money, cash collection or other payments gateway.
