Tusker determined to bounce back after Nzoia defeat
Tusker FC captain Humphrey Mieno wants his teammates to quickly
forget their 1-0 loss to Nzoia Sugar on Saturday, and concentrate on bouncing
back strongly in their next match against KCB.
The loss at Sudi Stadium – Bungoma, allowed rivals Gor Mahia who
edged Kenya Police 1-0 to return to the top of the Premier League table, as the
title race entered its homestretch.
Mieno believes the Ruaraka brewers can win all the remaining
matches, as he reflected on the loss to Nzoia.
“We worked hard trying to get the three points, unfortunately we
were unable. We carry on; pick the positives and move on to the next match. We
just need to focus because the matches are coming fast, be strong mentally and
try to pick maximum points in our next encounter which is indeed possible,”
said Mieno.
Tuskers, who have 54 points – two behind Gor, will host KCB on
Wednesday at the Ruaraka Grounds.
With a match against Gor yet to be played, the title race is
expected to take real shape after the fixture, which in which Gor could extend their
lead to five points again or even lose leadership.
Before Saturday’s defeat, Tusker had made it six
wins in row without a loss.
