Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) head coach Alfred Chole has lamented the absence of key players during their 1-1 draw against Kibera Black Stars in the FKF National Super League at the weekend.
Chole says the team lacked crucial personnel, with two
players serving suspensions and three others side-lined due to injuries.
The tactician expressed frustration over the limitations but
praised the team’s resilience to secure a point in a tough encounter.
“We missed vital contributors in this game, but I commend
the boys for stepping up under the circumstances. Picking a point away from
home is a commendable job. I'm also grateful to the boys for stepping up
because everyone in the team always ready to represent the club," Chole
stated.
With these absences exposing gaps in the team, Chole
believes it is time for MOFA to reinforce the squad by entering the transfer
market. "The injuries and suspensions have shown us areas where we need
more depth. We need to act fast and bring in quality players who can help us
remain competitive," Chole emphasized.
The draw leaves MOFA in sixth position with 26 points,
keeping them within reach of the top teams in the league. However, Chole
remains focused on ensuring his team does not lose momentum as the season progresses.
He also assured club supporters of bouncing back to winning
ways in the coming fixtures.
"To our
supporters, I want to assure them that if we can pick points away from home in
such circumstances, we can win get back to winning at home," he concluded.
With the transfer window opening in February, MOFA fans will
be eager to see how Chole addresses the challenges, as the club aims to
maintain its position and possibly climb higher in the league standings.
