ANU Wolfpacks head coach Michael Oluoch believes fatigue played a major role in his side's contrasting performances during their National Men's Basketball Premier League double-header at Nyayo Gymnasium over the weekend.

The students produced one of the biggest upsets of the season on Saturday, defeating giants Equity Dumas 88-79, before suffering a heavy 92-58 loss to defending champions Nairobi City Thunder on Sunday.

Reflecting on the weekend, Oluoch praised his players for their effort, particularly in the victory over Equity Dumas, but admitted the demanding schedule may have taken its toll against Thunder.

"The boys played hard on Saturday and pushed themselves throughout the game. I think the pressure and intensity of playing back-to-back matches on Saturday and Sunday affected our energy levels. We lacked the same strength and intensity in the second game, but we'll work on that and see what happens in the next game."

Despite the defeat to Thunder, the victory over Equity Dumas highlighted Wolfpacks' growing competitiveness this season and demonstrated their ability to challenge some of the league's top sides.

Elsewhere, Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men's head coach Robert Mugabe expressed satisfaction after the Dockers registered a commanding 113-49 victory over UON Terror at Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa.

The coastal side dominated from the opening whistle, showcasing their offensive efficiency and defensive discipline to secure one of their most convincing wins of the campaign.

"I am happy with the performance and the result. The players remained disciplined and followed our game plan well from the beginning to the end. We were able to move the ball well, defend aggressively and take advantage of our opportunities. It is always important to approach every game with the same level of seriousness regardless of the opponent, and I think the team did that today."

The emphatic win further strengthened KPA's position among the National Men's Basketball Premier League title contenders as they continue to build momentum heading into the crucial stages of the season.
